Meet the Smiles Behind our Scouting
25th Allerton Scout Leaders – Trusted Volunteers in L19
Meet the friendly faces who bring the fun, keep the chaos cheerful and make every Scout session feel like the best part of the week. From glitter glue to muddy boots, they’re the heroes behind the adventure.
The friendly faces behind the fun
Behind every badge earned and campfire shared are the leaders of the 25th Allerton Scout Group—volunteers from Allerton, Grassendale, and L19 who believe in nurturing confidence, kindness, and curiosity. Trained, DBS-checked, and community-minded, these are the people who make every Squirrel smile, every Beaver learn, every Cub grow, and every Scout thrive.
Meet the friendly faces who bring the fun, keep the chaos cheerful, and make every Scout session feel like the best part of the week. From glitter glue to muddy boots, they’re the heroes behind the adventure.
Every great adventure needs a great crew — and ours is full of energy, kindness, and a love for helping young people shine. From planning treasure hunts to cheering on badge work, our volunteer team is the reason your children leave each week with big smiles and muddy shoes.
We’re a mix of parents, past Scouts, lifelong volunteers, and new faces who simply wanted to do something meaningful. What we all have in common? We care deeply about making every child feel welcome, supported, and ready to take on the world (or at least the next obstacle course!). All our leaders are fully trained, DBS-checked, and supported every step of the way. We're not just a team — we're a little Scout family.

Say hello to the crew!
Here are just a few of the brilliant people making the magic happen behind the scenes and at the heart of every session:

Ahmeek — aka Chief Womble
Group Lead Volunteer
Seen it all. Cleaned it up. Probably recycled it.
Ahmeek has been part of 25th Allerton for over 30 years — which, according to local Beavers, is roughly a thousand. She leads with fun, fairness, and the uncanny ability to cook anything over a fire pit, including (but not limited to) full meals, marshmallows, and the occasional soggy shoe.
Famous for her chocolate Snicker stash and her ability to play a blade of grass like a musical instrument, she’s always prepared — especially for rain, chaos, and moments that call for uncontrollable laughter.
If Bear Grylls had any sense, he’d be following her.

Joe
Scouts Leader
Badge earned in: IT wizardry, snack logistics, and dam engineering (sand edition).
Fuelled by chocolate biscuits, because, really, who wouldn’t be?
Whether he’s building dams on the beach or troubleshooting tech like it’s second nature, Joe is always ready with a spare snack and a solid plan.
Believes in working together, reading the situation (and a good book), and doing everything… right up until he can’t and then figuring it out anyway.

Harry
Young Leader
Young Leader and blackboard artist
Part-time can I take that apart, full-time flapjack from Londis enthusiast.
Legend says they can set up a tent in complete darkness. With 4 years under their belt, they're the go-to group mood specialist.
Harry's survival kit includes: food, drink and 9cm3 tungsten cube, and the supernatural snack radar.
Known for just learning this young leader stuff, never gets lost, and being prepared for forgetting dinner time.
If they're missing, check the blackboard because they are probably drawing.
Favourite quote is obviously "Only joking" — Harry

Bald Eagle
Beaver Team
Master of organized chaos and planned spontaneity for 15 years.
Master of cooking chicken 7 ways, chief chicken , and the ancient art of group photo coordination.
Always equipped with chicken wrap, chicken crisps, water bottle and a friendly approach to everything.
Famous throughout the land for can fix things and being perpetually ready for being naughty at games times.
Powered by chicken sandwich and stubborn helpfulness.
Lives by: "It wasn't me!" and "I love chicken"
